The KDGW (Koreanisch-Deutsche Gesellschaft für Wirtschaftswissenschaften e.V. / Korean-German Association of Economics and Management) was initiated in December 1977 by experts who had studied in the German language zone (Germany, Switzerland and Austria) and have been working in their respective fields. In March 1978, it was formally established through its inaugural meeting.

The KDGW pursues the promotion of mutual friendship and scholarship among its members, as well as academic and cultural exchanges between Korea and Germany.

Its members have studied and majored in economics and/or management in German-speaking countries such as Germany, Switzerland or Austria, and have been working in their fields as experts in the world, including South Korea.
